Elena Yoph was a member of the Guardians of the Whills religious group during the Republic Era.[1] At some point between 68 BBY and 58 BBY,[2] Yoph began remotely corresponding with the Jedi Dooku to collaboratively discover the location of the ruins of the underground temple of the defunct Brotherhood of the Ninth Door located in the Holy City of Jedha. After Dooku arrived to Jedha City with his Padawan Qui-Gon Jinn, the allies met in person to explore the ruins created during the Battle of Jedha.[1]
Yoph considered calling off the search for the ruins after a survivor of the Brotherhood revealed himself to be vying for access to the temple, but was overruled by the Jedi. The trio eventually did locate and enter the abandoned temple, wherein they were confronted by the Brother, whose adept attempt at confusion involved hassling Yoph in order to goad Jinn into running into the Guardian of the Whills, knocking them both over.[1]
