Electrobinoculars were handheld viewing devices that enabled users to view objects from afar. Unlike macrobinoculars, electrobinoculars enhanced images via built-in hardware.[2] Examples of the types of enhancements electrobinoculars boasted included sensors to detect life signs, power frequencies, invisible defensive screens or radiation, night vision and rangefinding capability, and/or screen out atmospheric interference.[3]
