- "Edi Myrtaan, a keeper for the Coruscant Emeralds, had a significant fan following and appeared in numerous Imperial recruitment materials before one day completely disappearing. It was only when he resurfaced as part of a rebel cell on Sullust that it became clear he had defected right under the nose of the Empire, and rebel propaganda quickly adapted to make use of him."
- ―Beaumont Kin, The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire
Edi Myrtaan was an individual who gained a significant fan following playing as keeper for the Coruscant Emeralds grav-ball team. He was recruited by the Galactic Empire and appeared in numerous Imperial recruitment materials before disappearing from the public eye and defecting to the Alliance to Restore the Republic. His defection only became apparent when he surfaced as part of a rebel cell on[1] the planet[2] Sullust, after which the Alliance quickly adapted its propaganda to make use of him. A personnel file for Myrtaan existed within the Rebel Alliance Archives and was cited by the historian Beaumont Kin when[1] he[3] mentioned Myrtaan in his book The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire[1] in 35 ABY.[4]
Behind the scenes
Edi Myrtaan was created for[5] and mentioned in the 2024 reference book Star Wars: The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire, which was written by Dr. Chris Kempshall.[1]

- ↑ Star Wars: The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire states that thirty years have passed since the end of the Galactic Civil War and months have passed since the Battle of Exegol. As Star Wars: Timelines dates the end of the war to 5 ABY and the Battle of Exegol to 35 ABY, the in-universe The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire must have been published in 35 ABY.
