- "Edi Myrtaan, a keeper for the Coruscant Emeralds, had a significant fan following and appeared in numerous Imperial recruitment materials before one day completely disappearing. It was only when he resurfaced as part of a rebel cell on Sullust that it became clear he had defected right under the nose of the Empire, and rebel propaganda quickly adapted to make use of him."
- ―Beaumont Kin, The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire
The Coruscant Emeralds were a grav-ball team that played on the Core Worlds[1] planet[2] Coruscant during the Imperial Era. Edi Myrtaan, a keeper for the team, had a significant fan following and appeared in a number of recruitment materials for the Galactic Empire. After disappearing, Myrtann later resurfaced as a member of a rebel cell on[1] the Outer Rim planet[2] Sullust, after which the Rebel Alliance quickly adapted its propaganda to make use of him.[1] In 35 ABY,[3] the historian Beaumont Kin mentioned the Coruscant Emeralds in[1] his[4] book The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire.[1]
Behind the scenes
The Coruscant Emeralds were first mentioned in the 2024 reference book Star Wars: The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire, by Dr. Chris Kempshall.[1]

- ↑ Star Wars: The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire states that thirty years have passed since the end of the Galactic Civil War and months have passed since the Battle of Exegol. As Star Wars: Timelines dates the end of the war to 5 ABY and the Battle of Exegol to 35 ABY, the in-universe The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire must have been published in 35 ABY.
