- "Echo Three to Echo Seven. Han, old buddy, do you read me?"
"Loud and clear, kid. What's up?" - ―Luke Skywalker and Han Solo
Echo Seven was the callsign of a Tauntaun patrol for the Alliance to Restore the Republic prior to the Battle of Hoth.
History
Han Solo, when acting as a scout, was assigned to this patrol to search for signs of life on the planet, Hoth. After reporting to Echo Three—Luke Skywalker—that there was not enough life on the planet to fill a space cruiser, he headed back to the Rebel base.
Han turned in his tauntaun to the handlers when he returned to the base, completing his portion of the mission. However, upon hearing news of Luke's absence, he again took a tauntaun and went out into the blizzard at night to search for his friend.
