"There's an Outer Rim moon called Dizon Fray. There was a sentient species there, quite unusual. Extremely hostile to the concept of an Imperial refueling center that was being planned. I say 'was' because they created such a stir that the local commanders were granted permission to use any means necessary."
―Doctor Gorst, to his subject Bix Caleen[1]

The Dizonites were a sentient species native to the Outer Rim Territories moon Dizon Fray. At some point during the Imperial Era[1] prior to 5 BBY,[2] all of the Dizonites present on their homeworld were massacred by Imperial forces, and the genocide was broadcast and recorded as proof of mission.[1]

The choral dying screams of the Dizonites caused severe emotional distress to those who listened to them, leading to the audio's use as a torture method by the Imperial interrogator Doctor Gorst. Gorst curated the recordings to use what he believed were the screams of Dizonite younglings to cause as much distress as possible. The audio recordings were used by Gorst to torture the human female Bix Caleen in 5 BBY, which emotionally crippled Caleen and allowed Imperial Security Bureau lieutenant Dedra Meero to successfully interrogate her for information regarding her friend, Cassian Andor.[1] Caleen later forced Gorst to listen to the same recording before she and Andor killed him.[3]
