The diver was a type of bird that could be found on Birren,[1] a planet located in the Inner Rim Territories.[2] While living on Birren with her family, the human Kata Akuna would go bird-watching and saw divers and other types of bird. She eventually left the planet and, after losing both her parents, she joined the crew of the Stinger Mantis, a luxury yacht owned by the pilot Greez Dritus,[1] in 9 BBY. In that year,[3] Akuna listed the diver as part of an effort to remember all the birds from Birren while she was on the yacht. Dritus asked what she was doing after hearing the list and, after Akuna explained, the pilot asked for more information on the birds since he had never been to Birren. Akuna, however, put off the discussion till later.[1]
Behind the scenes
The diver was mentioned in an ambient conversation in the 2023 Respawn Entertainment video game, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.[1]
