Denebia was a terrestrial celestial body located in the Denebia system of the Senex sector, a part of the Senex-Juvex region in the Western Reaches portion of the Mid Rim. Situated near the sector's area known as the Tangles, it was connected to the Anturus and Kalgo systems by the hyperlane known as the Senex-Juvex Loop, while another hyperspace route linked it to the Suliana system.[1]

Denebia's terrain featured cool, dry plains. The celestial body's surface was dotted with plantations and towns of House Hax, one of the region's aristocratic Ancient Houses.[1] The game known as Denebian holo-chess[2] originated on Denebia.[3]

Behind the scenes

Denebia was introduced in the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, authored by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry, which placed it in grid square L-18.[1]

(backup link) (screenshot) Jason Fry, co-author of The Essential Atlas, stated his intention to create homeworlds for numerous species based on context implied from their names. Given this principle, this article makes a similar basic assumption for Denebian holo-chess in relation to the Denebia system and specifically Denebia.
