- "My parents were criminals. They were arrested when I was three. I was raised in an Imperial Kinder-block."
"Well… Nothing delicate about that, is there?" - ―Dedra Meero and Eedy Karn
The parents of the human Dedra Meero,[1] a native of[2] the planet Coruscant,[3] were criminals who were arrested when she was three years old, resulting in her being placed in[1] a facility that would later become an Imperial Kinder-block.[4] She felt that she had everything she needed there,[1] but the upbringing resulted in her becoming a cold, calculating, emotionally bankrupt servant of the Galactic Empire[4] who felt that she had no family.[1] In 4 BBY,[5] Meero informed Eedy Karn, the mother of her partner Syril Karn, about her parents' arrest, causing Eedy to call her childhood indelicate and claim that at the facility she had lacked a mother's love, although Meero responded that the children at the facility had not known what they were missing out on.[1]
Behind the scenes
Dedra Meero's parents were mentioned in "Harvest," the third episode of the second season of the Disney+ live-action show Star Wars: Andor,[1] which aired on April 22, 2025.[6]
