Dean and Lorana Jinzler's mother was the mother of four children, including Dean and Lorana Jinzler.
Biography
Jinzler and her husband were both maintenance engineers, who worked on the electronics maintenance and repairs in public areas inside the Jedi Temple on the planet Coruscant. She and her husband honored and adored the Jedi. Jinzler and her husband brought each of their four children to the Temple so they could be tested for potential Force sensitivity. To their joy, their third child, Lorana had high Force potential and was accepted into the Jedi Order at the age of ten months. However, Jedi were forbidden from knowing their families, in order to prevent attachments. As a result, Jinzler and her husband both were fired from their jobs as maintenance engineers in the Temple. They soon found new jobs, that were of course lower-paying jobs, which caused them to scramble in order to get their family packed and moved. Despite no longer working at the Temple, Jinzler and her husband continued to track their daughter's Jedi training in the Jedi Order through a friend of theirs who still worked in the Temple. The friend reported Lorana's progress as Jorus C'baoth's Padawan to both Jinzler parents. Sometime later, Jinzler and her husband gave an amethyst to a group of citizens who had at one time been rescued by Lorana and C'baoth. Those citizens gave the amethyst to Lorana as a gift, without her knowledge that it was from her parents. The amethyst gem was used by Lorana, in conjunction with an activation stud to ignite her lightsaber.[1]
Like Jinzler's first two children, her youngest child Dean did not have high Force potential. Jinzler and her husband still gave Dean the same love they gave their elder children. However, Dean misinterpreted their treatment of him. Jinzler and her husband set up a small shrine in their Coruscanti home to honor Lorana. Whenever Dean got in trouble, they would reprimand him, telling him that Lorana would have never done the same action. Unfortunately for Jinzler and her husband, Dean's jealousy blinded him, and he eventually formed a profound hatred to Lorana and both of his parents.[1]
In 27 ABY[2] Lorana was amongst the fifty-eight Galactic Republic survivors of the Battle for Outbound Flight. After meeting Jorj Car'das onboard the starship's remains, she ordered him to find Dean, and tell him to release his anger to Lorana and his parents.[1] Forty-nine years later,[3] a message was sent from Car'das to Dean, prompting him to join the mission to the remains of Outbound Flight, on a planetoid in the Redoubt. During Dean's visit to Outbound Flight's remains, Dean discovered Lorana realize Lorana had sacrificed herself to save Outbound Flight's Survivors. As a result of his visit, Dean relinquished all the hatred he had developed towards Lorana and his parents.[4]
