Dean and Lorana Jinzler's father was the father of four children, including Lorana and Dean.

Biography

Jinzler and his wife were civilian workers in the Jedi Temple on the planet Coruscant, where they worked handling electronics maintenance and repairs in the public areas. Jinzler and his wife adored and honored the Jedi and took each of their children to be tested for Force sensitivity. After their third child Lorana was inducted into the Jedi Order at the age of ten months, Jinzler and his wife lost their jobs as maintenance engineers in the Temple. They both knew that the Jedi's rules forbade members of the Order from knowing their family, as to prevent attachments. After Jinzler and his wife were fired from the Temple, they found lower-paying jobs, where they had scramble just to get the family packed and moved, as no one told them they could not stay at the Temple once Lorana was inducted into the Jedi Order. Despite moving to a new home away from the Temple, Jinzler and his wife tracked their daughter's Jedi training in the Jedi Order as Jorus C'baoth's Padawan through a friend who still worked in the Temple. Jinzler and his wife later gave an amethyst to a group of citizens once rescued by Lorana and C'baoth. The citizens gifted the amethyst gem to Lorana. Lorana used the amethyst gem alongside an activation stud to ignite her lightsaber.[1]

Jinzler's youngest child Dean did not have much Force potential, just like his two eldest siblings. Despite Jinzler and his wife giving Dean the same love they gave their other children, Dean became jealous of Lorana and felt his parents worshipped her. They set up a shrine in their home to honor Lorana. Whenever Dean got in trouble, Jinzler and his wife told Dean that Lorana would never have done those actions. As a result, Dean grew to despise Lorana and both his parents. After the Battle for Outbound Flight, Lorana assigned Jorj Car'das to leave the starship, head to Coruscant and tell Dean to release his anger to Lorana and his parents.[1] In 22 ABY,[2] forty-nine years after the Battle for Outbound Flight, Car'das sent a message to Dean, informing him of the mission to Outbound Flight's remains on a planetoid in the Redoubt. The visit to the location of his sister's death made Dean realize Lorana had sacrificed herself to save Outbound Flight's Survivors. Dean subsequently released all the hate he had to Lorana and his parents.[3]
