- "Perhaps the value of the weapons goes deeper than mere ceremony. A token of honor and family perhaps. Something akin to the Kalikori of the Twi'leks. I note that the etchings on these three blades are of different lengths and complexities, which would support the idea that family heritage is a part of the design."
- ―Darth Vader and Grand Admiral Thrawn discussing the daggers.
The Darshi species used ceremonial daggers. These were a type of curved daggers for mostly ceremonial purposes. Each one of unique and individual designs including etchings, length, and complexities. Grand Admiral Mitth'raw'nuruodo speculated the daggers were tokens of honor and family heritage similar to the Kalikori of the Twi'leks. The Grysks were known to have subjugated certain Darshi into servitude by stealing and holding these daggers hostage.[1]
Behind the scenes
Darshi ceremonial daggers first appeared in the 2018 novel Thrawn: Alliances, the second installment in Timothy Zahn's Star Wars: Thrawn series.[1]
