- "My father was a senator on Coruscant, and he was working with the Jedi to negotiate the release of the Daan's leader held captive by the Melida. It wasn't until the extraction that we realized it was a trap to show all of Daan's allies what could happen."
- ―Axel Greylark
The Daan were a group that inhabited the Cadavine sector's Melida/Daan alongside the Melida. After the Melida took the leader of the Daan captive, the Jedi Order and Republic senator Lexxir Greylark and his eighteen year old son, Axel Greylark, embarked on a diplomatic mission to negotiate with the Melida for the leader's release. During the extraction of the leader however, there was an explosion, as the mission was a trap to show all of the Daan's allies what would happen to those that helped them. With the trap triggered and the Melida on their way, the senator was buried under rubble in an explosion, while a Jedi Knight pulled an injured Greylark away, forcing him to leave his father to die.[1] In 382 BBY,[2] Greylark told the Jedi Gella Nattai about the incident.[1]
