The CryoBan projector, manufactured by Tagge Corporation, was originally designed to extinguish fires aboard starships using a supercooling chemical agent. However, independent operators soon discovered that removing the safety nozzles from CryoBan projectors could convert them into lethal weapons.[1]
Behind the scenes
The CryoBan projector was first mentioned in the new Star Wars canon in Gadgets and Gear, a 2019 supplement to Fantasy Flight Games' series of Star Wars Roleplaying products.[1] It was originally introduced in Fly Casual, a game supplement for the Star Wars: Edge of the Empire series.[2]
