Behind the scenes

The Croyden system was introduced in the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, written by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry, which placed the system in grid square M-13.[1]

In "The New Wonder Column" section of the twenty-seventh issue of the Star Wars Insider magazine, published in 1995, Star Wars actor Anthony Daniels made a tongue-in-cheek reference to "Croyden, the dreadfully boring sub-moon of Planet Gipper," which he did not recommend visiting. According to Daniels, Croyden had an inefficient postal system and it was the only location where back issues of Cantina Cuisine, a fictitious periodical advertised as part of "The New Wonder Column," where available.[2]
