A creativity damper[1] or creative damper[2] was a device that was installed in droids.[1] Used alongside behavioral inhibitor circuits and software, creativity dampers were meant to keep droids from reaching true self-awareness.[3] Protocol droids required creativity dampers in order to ensure that their language translations were unembellished and accurate.[1] Cybot Galactica was forced to install creativity dampers in their 3PO-series protocol droids.[4] The droid I-5YQ had his creativity dampers removed.[3]
