The coronation of the Alderaanian heir was a ceremony in which the heir to the Alderaanian throne was formally declared crown princess or prince. The ceremony was a follow-up to the heir's Day of Demand, and was carried out after the heir had completed their three challenges, of the Body, Mind and Heart, proving themselves worthy to inherit. As in the Day of Demand, the heir carried the Rhindon Sword during the ceremony. At the climax, the heir would be crowned by the monarch with the Heir's Crown.[1]

At Leia Organa's coronation ceremony in 3 BBY, Chandrilan senator Mon Mothma was in attendance as was many of her friends from the Apprentice Legislature, including Amilyn Holdo of Gatalenta and Chassellon Stevis of Coruscant.[1]
