Coonee was a planet located in the Expansion Region. Han Solo, who was in his teens, and Chewbacca traveled to Coonee where they herded coldppedas, fifteen-footed scaled domestic animals, for three years.

Behind the scenes

It was created by George Lucas shortly after the release of A New Hope in 1977 as part of the back-story of Han Solo. Coonee was never incorporated into Han's biography, despite the fact that Lucas developed it for the use of licensees in the Expanded Universe. However, the unused backstory is referred to as in-universe rumors in The Essential Atlas.
