- "Where are the Cook’em Cakes?"
- ―Haki Zeophrine, after returning to her and Chemish Runazha's safe house on Coruscant
Cook'em Cakes were a type of small instant cake that were stored in packets and edible by Heptooinians and humans. The cakes would instantly form after the packet was opened, with its jelly giving off an artificial berry scent. Early into the reign of the Galactic Empire, the Imperial Intelligence spy Haki Zeophrine kept Cook'em Cakes in the safe house she and her apprentice, Chemish Runazha, shared on the planet Coruscant.[1]
In 19 BBY,[2] Zeophrine returned to the safe house to meet with Runazha and fumbled through its cabinets until she found a packet of Cook'em Cakes. When she opened it, she noticed it sweat jelly and give off an aroma as it took form. Another time not long afterward, when Zeophrine returned from a mission with Senator Bail Organa, she and Runahaza conversed and ate several Cook'em Cakes together while the latter informed their mentor of Coruscant's happenings while she had been away.[1]

Star Wars: Edge of the Abyss on Penguin Books' official United Kingdom website (backup link) establishes the events of Reign of the Empire: The Mask of Fear take place thirteen years before the events of Reign of the Empire: Edge of the Abyss.
Rebecca Roanhorse (@rebeccaroanhorse) on Instagram (post): "Title and updated release date of my upcoming STAR WARS novel announced at SDCC. THE EDGE OF THE ABYSS takes place a year before Andor S1." (backup link) states that Edge of the Abyss takes place a year before the events of Andor Season 1, which are set in 5 BBY per the reasoning here. Therefore, the events of Edge of the Abyss must be set in 6 BBY, and the events of The Mask of Fear in 19 BBY.
