- "Um, I need three of those tool kits right there. Um, ten laser lenses."
"OK. Mm-hmm."
"And throw in a crate of those connector rods." - ―Teroj Kee and Kazuda Xiono in the Office of Acquisitions
Connector rods were rods sold in the Office of Acquisitions on the supertanker fuel depot Colossus. In 34 ABY, the First Order operative Teroj Kee asked the mechanic Kazuda Xiono, who was working there that day, to deliver a crate of connector rods and other items to loading dock 23. Though Xiono did so, Kee trapped him in the storage locker, having intended to lure the former out of the store so he could steal a phase connector from its back room.
History
- "Careful there. Wouldn't want you to get hurt. Yet."
"Look, I don't have any credits. Flix and Orka don't pay me. My real job barely pays me. I'm just doing this as a favor."
"Mm-hmm, mm-hmm, uh-huh. Well, it's nothing personal, kid. It's just business." - ―Teroj Kee and Kazuda Xiono, after the latter delivered a crate of connector rods and other items
Teroj Kee tricked Kazuda Xiono into leaving the Office of Acquisitions to make a delivery—which included a crate of connector rods—so that he could steal from the establishment.
Connector rods were a type of rod sold in the Office of Acquisitions—owned by the proprietors Flix and Orka—on the supertanker fuel depot Colossus.[1] In 34 ABY,[2] the mechanic Kazuda Xiono agreed to watch over the Office of Acquisitions for a day to repay a debt to Flix and Orka. While posing as a representative from the Mining Guild, the First Order operative Teroj Kee tried to buy a phase connector mining tool from the establishment, though Xiono informed him the only one in stock was already reserved. Afterward, the gorg Bitey bit Kee's hand, prompting the annoyed First Order operative to ask Xiono to deliver a crate of connector rods, three tool kits, and ten laser lenses to his storage locker at loading dock 23 in the Colossus's loading docks. Though Xiono was excited, believing the sale to be genuine, Kee instead intended to draw Xiono away from the shop so he could steal the phase connector device from the establishment's vault.[1]
Xiono gathered the requested parts on a pallet and proceeded to deliver them despite his astromech droid, BB-8, finding the situation suspicious. Upon arrival, the mechanic was held at blaster-point by Kee in the locker and trapped inside of it. Though Xiono escaped, the locker—including the connector rods and other parts inside—were dropped into the waters of[1] the Mid Rim planet[3] Castilon below.[1]
Behind the scenes
In the current Star Wars canon, a crate of connector rods first appeared in "Dangerous Business,"[1] the thirteenth episode of the first season of the animated television series Star Wars Resistance,[4] which aired on January 20, 2019.[5] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, connector rods debuted in the 1997 reference book The Essential Guide to Weapons and Technology, written by Bill Smith.[6]
