Coachelle Automata was a company led by members of the Lepi species.[2] The corporation manufactured the LEP servant droid. Initially the droid was meant to serve as a childcare unit, but after it failed to find success in this capacity, it was tweaked and relaunched by Coachelle Automata as a service droid. The droid was manufactured in the same complex as Cybot Galactica's PK-series worker droid, which it proved to be only slightly less popular than.[1]
Behind the scenes
Coachelle Automata was first mentioned in the new Star Wars canon in the 2017 De Agostini magazine Star Wars: Build Your Own R2-D2 38.[3] The company originated in Star Wars Legends, where it was first mentioned in the 2009 reference book Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Visual Guide Ultimate Battles, which was written by Jason Fry.[4]
