Class Type B escort shuttles were transports used by the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars. At least one Type B shuttle was captured by the Galactic Republic.
Description
The vessel had a similar design to the Sheathipede-class transport shuttle, but was greater in length.
History
Around 21 BBY,[2] Shuttle 81572, a Class Type B escort shuttle, was used by a Jedi elite team led by Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker and clone trooper officers Rex and Cody to liberate Jedi Master Even Piell, who was being held captive in the Citadel on Lola Sayu.[1] Though the mission was successful, the shuttle was destroyed in the attempt by Confederate battle droids.[1]

A Class type B shuttle was used on Naboo by Count Dooku and several bounty hunters led by Cad Bane, Moralo Eval, and Obi-Wan Kenobi posing as Rako Hardeen in an attempt to capture Supreme Chancellor Palpatine. However, Dooku used the bounty hunters as a diversion to distract Republic troops, while he lured Anakin and Palpatine to the dinner room. Although Anakin foiled the plot, Dooku used the shuttle to escape from Naboo once more.[4]
