Clari-crystal was a substance that could be used to make windows. Some buildings on the ecumenopolis Coruscant had clari-crystal windows. The cleaning and upkeep of the windows was carried out by a small army of CLE-004 window cleaning droids and INS-444s, who also maintained the planet's glass and transparisteel windows.[1]

Behind the scenes

Clari-crystal was first mentioned in the new Star Wars canon in the 2017 De Agostini magazine Star Wars: Build Your Own R2-D2 38.[1] The substance was first mentioned in the Star Wars Legends continuity as clari-crystalline in the 2006 reference book The New Essential Guide to Droids, which was written by Daniel Wallace.[2]
