Chortose was an astronomical object[3] located in the Chortose system, a part of the Outer Rim Territories' Rseik sector.[1] It was the homeworld of the sentient Chortose species, including the engineer and starship mechanic Porgo Goo.[3]

Behind the scenes

Chortose was first mentioned in the 1990 sourcebook Galaxy Guide 6: Tramp Freighters, which was written by Mark Rein-Hagen and Stewart Wieck for West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.[4] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Chortose system, and therefore Chortose itself, in grid square N-20.[2]
