Behind the scenes
This species' original maquette.
This species could first be seen briefly via a bust in the background of Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones,[1] later shown better in sources like the Star Wars Galaxies Trading Card Game.[3] This design was originally created as a maquette bust by John Knoll and team,[4] including Robert E. Barnes,[5] to serve as a potential design for the Besalisk Dexter Jettster, presented alongside twenty-three other species sculptures for George Lucas to choose from. Lucas would request to combine the crest of this species and the face of another to better accommodate his vision,[4] though alongside a handful of the unselected species maquettes, this full design would be recycled for some of the busts to fill the Jedi Archives,[1] being the only one whose character received a name.[2]
