Charnoqs were a species of predatory reptiles native to the planet of Maridun. This kind of reptile lived in the forests and had great climbing and leaping abilities.[1] The Amanin, a primitive people from the same planet, secreted a poisonous slime from their bodies that kept their skin damp and helped fend off most of the carnivorous forests creatures[2] — except for the charnoq, which was the only animal on Maridun that the Amanin feared.[1][2]
