Charn Roondha was an Ithorian who worked for Jabba Desilijic Tiure as a collector of taxes and protection money from a variety of Outer Rim worlds.[2] In 4 ABY,[1] the Gran Ree-Yees sought to take over his role. During his time serving as the palace's bookkeeper, the Twi'lek Silvan Kaan had the translator droid Eightyem inform Roondha that he had lost the faith of Jabba, as the amount of credits the Ithorian had been bringing in of late had fallen off. This caused Roondha to confront Yees, but Jabba ordered him to spare the Gran. Afterwards, Kaan again asked Eightyem to tell Roondha of a supposed rumor that Jabba was to take away Roondha's actions on Mandalore and give them to Yees. In an attempt to stop this from happening, Roondha suggested removing Jabba from his throne. Eightyem and Kaan then came up with the idea of the droid acquiring a WESTAR-35 blaster pistol from the palace armory, as only those in Jabba's favor or his guards could have weapons in the palace, and Roondha was neither, so that the Ithorian could kill Jabba without having to get too close.[2]
After Eightyem gave the weapon to Kaan, he provided it to Roondha, who then attempted to kill Jabba, but it was thwarted by the bounty hunter Bane Malar. Roondha was later brought before Jabba, and informed he would be killed swiftly if he gave up the name of who had provided him the blaster. Roondha responded in Ithorese that it was Kaan, but Eightyem mistranslated it purposely to say that Roondha had said he would rather die horribly than betray a confidence. The Ithorian then pointed out it was Eightyem, but again the droid lied about what he had said, and informed Jabba that he had said something unkind about the Hutt's mother. This enraged Jabba, who had Roondha fed to the sarlacc at the Great Pit of Carkoon.[2]
