- "New plan. We get the Nameless into the escape pods and off the ship."
"With what? Charhound treats?" - ―Kildo and Ram Jomaram
Charhound treats were a type of treat that shared their name with[1] charhounds, a type of carnivorous canine native to the world Elphrona.[2] In 228 BBY,[3] after Force-consuming Nameless creatures escaped from containment aboard the Elite-class vessel Innovator, the Jedi youngling Kildo suggested getting the Nameless into the ship's escape pods. Jedi Padawan Ram Jomaram responded by questioning how Kildo intended to do so, asking if he would use charhound treats. The Jedi ultimately did not use charhound treats to lure the Nameless.[1]
Behind the scenes
Charhound treats were mentioned in the 2024 junior novel The High Republic: Beware the Nameless, written by Zoraida Córdova and published as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's[1] Phase III.[4]

- ↑ Star Wars: Timelines dates Starlight Beacon's destruction to 230 BBY. The implementation of the Guardian Protocols, which Star Wars: The High Republic Character Encyclopedia places in 229 BBY, took place one week after Starlight Beacon's fall according to The High Republic – Shadows of Starlight 1. As The High Republic: Beware the Nameless takes place one and a half years after the destruction of Starlight Beacon, it must be set in 228 BBY.
