- "What forces do we have that we can spare?"
"The garrison force on Centax One, some twenty thousand clones. We shall have to commit them; they're all we have that are immediately available."
"So that means, Chancellor, that we shall have no reserve left to deal with any other contingency? What if we need troops here on Coruscant?" - ―Jannie Ha'Nook and Palpatine
Centax-1,[6] also spelled as Centax 1[3][7][8] and Centax One,[3] was one of the four moons[5] of Coruscant.[3]
History
- "Nejaa Halcyon, you will take a relief force of twenty thousand clones to Praesitlyn. Once there you will effect a landing of your army, assume overall command of the combined force, and destroy the Techno Union army there. You are authorized to dispose your ground and naval forces according to the battle plan you and your staff will devise en route to accomplish this mission in the most expeditious and effective way possible. You may select your own staff and designate whomever you wish to be your second in command. Time is short. When you leave here you will repair to Centax One, where your fleet is preparing for departure. You will effect that departure with all possible haste."
- ―Mace Windu, to Nejaa Halcyon
The planet Coruscant and three of its four moons
Following the Alsakan Conflicts, Centax-1 served as a Galactic Republic penal world.[6]
Centax-class heavy frigates were outfitted there during the Clone Wars and it was a military staging base that was garrisoned with 20,000 clone troopers.[3]
In 27 ABY, during the Yuuzhan Vong War, the Yuuzhan Vong took Coruscant from the New Republic and began terraforming the planet. During the process, Centax-1 was either destroyed or ejected from orbit.[9][10]

- ↑ Although The New Jedi Order: Traitor does not specify which of Coruscant's four moons was destroyed to create the Bridge, the destroyed moon must have been either Centax-1 or Centax-3, as the two remaining moons, Centax-2 and Hesperidium, both appeared in stories dated after the Yuuzhan Vong War. Centax-2 was featured in Legacy of the Force: Bloodlines, and Hesperidium in Legacy of the Force: Sacrifice.
