Carok Hittak was a Force-sensitive Jedi of the Jedi Order who owned a plasma shield that would later be owned by Jedi Master Silandra Sho and her Padawan, Rooper Nitani.[2] Around 379 BBY,[1] Nitani was searching for the shield after Sho hid it as part of her Jedi Trials. She recalled stories about the shield's previous owners that her Master had told her, including the story of when Hittak went on a quest so far beyond the Outer Rim that it took him almost two decades to return. Until his death, Hittak maintained that the shield was the one thing that had kept him going while he was lost. Nitani considered Hittak to be legendary.[2]

Carok Hittak was mentioned in the short story "Shield of the Jedi," written by George Mann and published in the 2023 young-adult anthology The High Republic: Tales of Light and Life as a part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project.[2]
