Canopy bandits

The Canopy Bandits were a group of criminals present on Kashyyyk during the Galactic Civil War.

Description

"I need you to find the Canopy bandit's camp and see if you can find my friends there. They are probably just being held captive for ransom. You know...that is what bandits do."

The Canopy Bandits were present on the planet Kashyyyk and were mainly active in the region of Kachirho. They had a camp located on a cliff overlooking a river next to the Bolotaur Beach.^[2]

The bandits were known to be particularly vicious. One of their more lucrative activities was to kidnap for ransom inocent people venturing in the wilderness of Kashyyyk. The criminals consisted mostly of off-worlders but also included native Wookiees. They used to wear dark green clothes, likely to hide in the forested environment of Kashyyyk.^[2]

History

"So...they are dead...oh Jillian, I told you not to go. ...I know it is a lot to ask but could you perhaps do one more thing for me? I want you to make those Canopy bandits pay. Pay for what they have done to my friends...to Jillian."

In 1 ABY,^[3] the Canopy bandits attacked a research camp used by a group of scientits came to Kashyyyk to study local flora. The criminals captured the researchers and brought them captive to their camp. However, for some reason, they executed all the scientists, including Jillian, Bathoz and Rengar, instead of asking for a ransom.^[2]

A short time later, a group of spacers discovered the destroyed research camp. While investigating the camp site, a spacer was contacted over the radio by another researcher, Lisum, who was trying to liaise with his friends. The spacer accepted to help to uncover the researchers' fate and the adventurers therefore searched the camp for clues. When one of the spacers found the word "Canopy" written on a dented drum, Lisum immediately understood that the scientists had been taken by the Canopy bandits. He thus requested the spacers to find the Canopy bandit's camp where his colleages where likely held captive. The adventurers explored the area and finally found the bandit's lair. However, it was already too late and they only found the corpses of the dead scientists in the camp. Enraged, Lisum asked them to make the criminals pay for what they did. The spacers eventually killed fifteen Canopy bandits out of vengeance.^[2]
