A caltrop was a type of handheld antipersonnel weapon made of sharp spikes. Used defensively, caltrops were dropped to form a field which would slow enemies and cause them to bleed. During the Iron Blockade of the Anoat sector, a young smuggler used caltrops as a means of self defense.[1]
Behind the scenes
Caltrops first appeared in the mobile game Star Wars: Uprising, which was released in 2015 by Kabam for iOS and Android platforms. In Uprising, caltrops are a defensive ability which can be purchased from a trainer.[1]
