Caliban was a weapon manufacturing company that produced the Model X heavy blaster pistol.[1]

Behind the scenes

Caliban was mentioned in the new Star Wars canon in the 2019 Fantasy Flight Games roleplaying supplement Gadgets and Gear.[1] The company originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was first mentioned in the 1993 roleplaying supplement Galaxy Guide 9: Fragments from the Rim, which was written by Simon Smith and Eric S. Trautmann for West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game. In the Galaxy Guide, the company's name was spelt as "Calban,"[2] with the Caliban spelling first being used in the 2002 roleplaying supplement Arms & Equipment Guide, which was written by Jeff Grubb and Owen K.C. Stephens for Wizards of the Coast's Star Wars Roleplaying Game.[3]
