"They didn't have calamari pizza because Mon Calamari are people, and I did not know that."
―Yarael Poof[1]

Calamari pizza was a variety of pizza that some vendors refused to sell due to the existence of the sentient Mon Calamari species.[1] In 19 BBY,[2] Jedi Master Yarael Poof attempted to acquire calamari pizza for the Jedi High Council, only to be refused due to Mon Calamari being people. When Poof returned to the Jedi Temple on[1] the planet[3] Coruscant during the Great Jedi Purge with a stack of pizzas, he entered the empty High Council Chamber while explaining why he was unable to get the calamari pizza.[1]

Behind the scenes

Calamari pizza was mentioned in the 2010 comedy special Robot Chicken: Star Wars Episode III.[1]
