A gang was active[1] during the Republic Era.[2] The group was originally led by Lazlo,[1] after whose death[4] Cad Bane emerged as the new leader.[3] Other gang members included Arin,[4] a Bith, Tay Grutty, and Vak Lako.[4]

Around between 62 BBY and 33 BBY,[2] Cad Bane was detained by[4] his[5] former friend[3] Niro, a local police officer.[4] Niro subsequently became involved with Arin, Bane's love interest, and raised Bane's and her offspring Isaac as[3] his[1] own. By the time Bane was released from prison, Arin had passed away. During the ensuing confrontation between the now-released Bane and Niro, the former killed the latter, sparing the life of his biological child. Before the showdown, Lako and Grutty had been killed during a shootout as they covered Bane as his snipers, and the Bith had been died some time prior, leaving Cad Bane as the only surviving gang member.[3]

The gang first appeared in the three episodes of the television miniseries Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld: "The Good Life,"[1] "A Good Turn,"[4] and "One Good Deed,"[3] which were released on May 4, 2025.[6]

According to Star Wars: Scum and Villainy: Case Files on the Galaxy's Most Notorious, Bane was estimated to be 41 years old in the year 7956 C.R.C., eleven years after the 7945 C.R.C. Boonta Eve Classic of Neva Kee's disappearance. As Star Wars: Timelines dates that race to 32 BBY, it can be calculated that Bane was born around the year 62 BBY. Furthermore, Darth Maul (2017) 3 shows that Bane is already a bounty hunter by the time of its events, which occur in 33 BBY according to Timelines. Therefore, the events of "The Good Life" must take place between c. 62 BBY and 33 BBY.
