Cabuck Junior whimpers in fear of Mae-ho Aniseya

Cabuck Junior, also known just as Junior, was a Drezar male born around 135 BBY. Their parent Cabuck owned the Lomi Usqi Noodle Shop on the world Ueda and sometimes brought Junior to work with him. In 132 BBY, the parent and child were both present at the shop when the assassin Mae-ho Aniseya killed Jedi Master Indara there.

Biography

Cabuck Junior, also known as just Junior, was a Drezar male born[2] around 135 BBY[1] to Cabuck, the owner and bartender of the Lomi Usqi Noodle Shop in Point Ueda village on the planet Ueda,[2] who sometimes bought them to work with him.[4] Junior's parent was able to use his wide-set eyes to watch out for his son while also attending to multiple guests.[2]

Cabuck Junior grips their father's leg tightly and buries their face against it as Cabuck places his hand on the child's head.

Cabuck Junior hid their face from Mae-ho Aniseya.

In 132 BBY,[5] the assassin Mae-ho Aniseya attacked and killed Jedi Master Indara in the shop as Cabuck watched from behind the bar. Once the Jedi was dead, Aniseya approached Cabuck and prepared to throw a knife at him, but paused upon hearing the whimpering of Cabuck Junior, who was clutching their parent's leg. The child buried their face in Cabuck's leg, and the bartender placed a hand upon Cabuck Junior's head. The assassin then left without harming either and Cabuck turned to tend to his child.[3]

Personality and traits

Cabuck Junior was a shy child[2] with brown skin and green eyes.[3]

Equipment

During their encounter with Aniseya, Cabuck Junior wore a gray shirt with matching pants and boots as well as a brown satchel and clutched a[3] handmade[6] blue toy[3] of the Reshtini[2] Kesmer Faloodi[6] tightly.[3] They also possessed a spinner toy made from a repurposed tankage seal.[2]

Costume concept of Cabuck and Cabuck Junior by Sophie Fretwell

Cabuck Junior appeared in "Lost / Found,"[3] the first episode of the live-action television series Star Wars: The Acolyte, which aired on Disney+ on June 4, 2024.[7] The child was designed by[8] senior animatronic designer[3] Adrian Parish who then worked closely with[8] junior animatronic designer[3] Matthew Hart to build it.[8] Cabuck Junior was puppeteered by Claire Roi Harvey, Lynn Robertson Bruce, Beccy Henderson, and Parish.[9]

Martin Rezard designed and sculpted Cabuck Junior's head and hands, sculpting the head in ZBrush. Brian Best then used ZBrush to create a 3D mould that was printed and reinforced in fibreglass before foam was added. The hands were a traditional plasticine sculpt.[10] The character's costume was designed by costume designer Jennifer Bryan with a concept illustration of it drawn by illustrator Sophie Fretwell. The illustration showed Cabuck Junior with purple skin and wearing a wide-brimmed hat.[11] The scenes in the shop were filmed at Shinfield Studios,[12] England.[13] The character was first identified in an entry for Cabuck in the StarWars.com Databank[4] posted by July 20, 2024.[14]

I never thought I'd be making Animatronics with the best in the business! I have been welcomed with open arms by the whole crew and am loving this chapter of my career! Creature 1 - I did a tiny bit of work on the 'bulb' on this mask built by Matt Macmurray and was great seeing it in the first scene of the first episode! Creature 2 - I built the child when I first started, working closely with and from the designs of @adyfparish. It was a beautiful puppet. Creature(s)3 - I added a sequencer and puppeteered these autopilot droids, meched by Karl Gallivan and built by the Model makers. Creature 4 - TT-8L-OT - my first mech! Working with @theforge_props to come up with this fun guy. Nice to see it used in the opening scene of episode 2! Bring on the next episode....the Creatures we all built look incredible ❤️" (backup link)
