The Bulwark-class battle cruiser was utilized by the naval branch of the Separatist Alliance during the Clone Wars against the Galactic Republic,[1] between 22 BBY and 19 BBY.[2] Sullustan Admiral Dua Ningo, an officer of the Sullustan Home Guard, which had allied with the Confederacy, was charged with overseeing the construction of a flotilla of battlecruisers. Anticipating the fleet's completion two years after the outbreak of the war on the planet Geonosis, Ningo had hoped to deploy the Bulwark-class battle cruisers in an attack against the Republic's capital world of Coruscant.[1] It shared its name with the Bulwark system.[3]
Behind the scenes
Bulwark-class battle cruisers were introduced in the current Star Wars canon in Rise of the Separatists, published by Fantasy Flight Games in 2019 for their series of Star Wars Roleplaying products.[1] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the Bulwark Mark I was introduced in The New Essential Chronology, a 2005 reference book authored by Daniel Wallace and Kevin J. Anderson.[4]
