A blood scanner was a sensor used to analyze blood. Utilized for medical diagnostics, the device could assess the well-being of an individual, able to scan the blood of nearly any species in the galaxy. Blood scanners specialized in the isolation and identification of agents foreign to the bloodstream, including toxins such as chemicals, poisons, and diseases. The scanner provided extensive information about a patient's health and offered medical advice once an agent had been identified, suggesting antidotes, remedies, and other effective options for treatment. During the Galactic Civil War, blood scanners cost 400 credits.[1]

The blood scanner was first mentioned in Keeping the Peace, a sourcebook for the Star Wars: Force and Destiny roleplaying game line, published by Fantasy Flight Games on December 17, 2015.[1]
