Blast shield

Blast shields were a type of shield.^[1] The term blast shield could refer to a large, handheld shield, such as the M3 Bulwark Blast Shield used by the clone troopers of the Grand Army of the Republic,^[3] or the blast shield on a helmet that covered the wearer's face.^[2]

During the Clone Wars, clone troopers used M3 Bulwark Blast Shields at the Battle of Ringo Vinda^[3] in 19 BBY.^[4] By 34 ABY,^[5] the EGL power droid B0-LT had illegally modified itself with a blast shield which, along with the droid's reprogramming and evasion of arrest, resulted in a 525 credit bounty being placed on its head while it hid on the planet Batuu.^[1]
