- "This is shuttle Invictus, out of the Blackfel system, on a classified scouting mission."
- ―Han Solo, reporting to TIE fighters
The Blackfel system was located in the Greater Plooriod sector of the Expansion Region[1] and New Territories.[2] It was situated in grid square M-7 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1]
During its reign, the Galactic Empire had a presence in the Blackfel system.[3] In 0 ABY,[4] rebel Princess Leia Organa and the smuggler Han Solo undertook a scouting mission for a new rebel base in the Outer Rim's Moddell sector aboard the stolen Imperial Lambda-class shuttle Invictus. During the mission, their shuttle was approached by two TIE fighters, who instructed them to identify themselves, as they did not have clearance to be in the sector.[3]
In response, Solo claimed that the shuttle was from the Blackfel system and that they were on a classified scouting mission before Organa transmitted clearance codes to the TIE fighters. As they were about to be cleared, Solo began piloting the shuttle away, forcing the TIEs to chase after them.[3]
