Beryllium was a substance that could be used as fuel for explosives with a white hue.[1] In 5 BBY,[2] Sabine Wren, a member of the anti–Galactic Empire rebel crew of the starship Ghost, noted in[1] her[3] journal beryllium as a possible fuel for creating white explosions.[1]
Behind the scenes
Beryllium was introduced to the current canon of the Star Wars franchise in Sabine My Rebel Sketchbook, which was written by Daniel Wallace[1] and published on February 3, 2015.[4] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, beryllium was an ore mentioned in "Alien Encounters," a feature written by Trevor J. Wilson and Craig Robert Carey and published in the August 1997 fourteenth issue of the Star Wars Adventure Journal magazine.[5] In the real world, beryllium is a chemical element and metal,[6] with beryllium in powder form being used to obtain white color in fireworks.[7]
