- "For example, Commandant Angor was noted for his relevant and robust combat strategy classes, and often worked closely with Commandant Bedgar who instructed officer cadets on the intricacies of military administration. Together the pair were able to produce well-rounded officers who could both act in combat and undertake the bureaucracy that was inherent in leadership positions."
- ―Beaumont Kin, The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire
Bedgar served the Galactic Empire on[1] the Core Worlds planet[2] Corulag, working as a commandant in the Corulag Military Academy. At the Imperial Academy, Bedgar taught officer cadets about the intricacies of military administration. As the academy tended to pair training instructors based on their complementary abilities, Bedgar was paired with Commandant Angor, who delivered robust combat strategy classes. This allowed the pair to produce well-rounded officers who were both combat ready and able to deal with the bureaucracies of leadership. A filed on their curriculum titled Combined Officer's Curriculum 27 was stored in the "Corulag Imperial Military Academy" section of the Imperial Archives.[1] In 35 ABY,[3] the historian Beaumont Kin mentioned Bedgar in[1] his[4] book The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire.[1]
Behind the scenes
Bedgar was mentioned in the 2024 reference book Star Wars: The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire, which was written by Dr. Chris Kempshall.[1] The character was named in reference to[5] YouTuber Ben Edgar,[6] who has played Minecraft with the username Bedgar[7] and collaborates with fellow YouTuber[8] Tom Clark,[9] the inspiration for Angor's name.[5] The pair have suggested they may cosplay as the commandants in future.[8]

- ↑ Star Wars: The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire states that thirty years have passed since the end of the Galactic Civil War and months have passed since the Battle of Exegol. As Star Wars: Timelines dates the end of the war to 5 ABY and the Battle of Exegol to 35 ABY, the in-universe The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire must have been published in 35 ABY.
