The Batuuan Spira
Batuuan Spira was the ancient currency of Black Spire Outpost. Around 34 ABY, the Spira took the form of a hexagonal chip of either dull yellow or silvery metal. Its obverse face bore the word "Spira" and the letters "BSO" for Black Spire Outpost in Aurebesh above three columns and a half-circle with a smaller complete circle resting on its edge.[2]
Behind the scenes
The real–world version of the Batuuan Spira is a gift card that can be purchased for a $100 minimum plus a $4.99 activation fee, first made available at Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge in Disneyland upon the theme park area's opening on May 31st, 2019. It can be used wherever a standard Disney Gift Card is accepted.
The original version of the Spira available from the opening of Galaxy's Edge was dull yellow or golden in color, but it was discontinued and replaced by a silver version on September 1st, 2020.[3] The silver Spira introduced the added $4.99 activation fee.[4] A copper version was introduced on May 4, 2024.[5]
