The Battle of Maraken took place[4] in the vicinity of[2] the Maraken system[3] during the early stages of the Galactic Empire's reign.[1] The Imperial officer Visler Korda lost his lower jaw to a combat droid during the battle, but was able to destroy the droid in turn. Consequently, he was fitted with a robotic jaw lined with sharp metal teeth.[4]
Behind the scenes
The Battle of Maraken was mentioned on Cavan Scott's young adult book Adventures in Wild Space: The Snare.[4]
According to the author, it did not take place during the Clone Wars, but rather the early Imperial period.[1]

(In reply to: "Jason, is Gendrah-Narvin a city country, star, or planet?")" (backup link) Jason Fry, co-author of The Essential Atlas and a number of maps in the current Star Wars canon (see a list here), and his Atlas co-author Daniel Wallace, stated their intention to create the approximate locations for numerous events based on context implied from their names. Given this principle, this article makes a similar basic assumption for Battle of Maraken in relation to the Maraken system.
