Balmgrass was a type of soft grass found on[1] the Core World planet[2] Chandrila in the vicinity of Landing Platform OB-99. In springtime, the color of balmgrass changed from red to green.[1]

Behind the scenes

Balmgrass first appeared in the current Star Wars canon in Aftermath: Life Debt, a 2016 novel written by Chuck Wendig.[1] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, balmgrass was introduced in Greg Keyes's 2001 novel The New Jedi Order: Edge of Victory II: Rebirth, the eighth volume of the Star Wars: The New Jedi Order series.[3] In the 2019 video game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, a green and white skin for the droid BD-1 shares its name with balmgrass. The skin can be earned in the Tomb of Eilram on the planet Zeffo.[4]
