Baleen were biological adaptations that were possessed by Ycaqt. Ycaqt scooped up more than twelve liters of water at a time and used their baleen to filter plankton, their primary food source, out of the water. Ycaqt avoided using their mouths to defend themselves in order to prevent their baleen from being damaged.[1]
