Aurora (plural form: aurorae[1] or auroras) was a natural phenomenon known to occur on the planet Tiikae[2] Piu,[1] and Kavith III.[3] Taking the appearance of colorful rainbows of radiation, they were visible in the sky at night. During the weeks she spent on Tiikae,[2] in 231 BBY,[4] Sylvestri Yarrow regularly watched the aurora with Jordanna Sparkburn.[2] The location Piu had an annual event called the Giganism Sacrifice during which prayer-oolites would form aurorae. On one occasion during the Imperial Era, the scholar Korin Aphra witnessed the Giganism Sacrifice, seeing aurorae formed by the oolites when the sacrifice hit the troposphere. He later recounted the event to his daughter Chelli, wishing she had been there.[1]
