Audio sensor

An audio sensor,^[2] also known as an audio pickup,^[3], auditory sensor,^[4], or audio receptor^[5] was a type of sensor that detected sound. The component was used in 3PO-series protocol droids,^[2] RA-7 protocol droids,^[6] and LOM-series protocol droids^[7] and also featured in General Grievous's helmet^[1] and Imperial stormtrooper helmets.^[3]
