Assault shuttles were a type of armed shuttles used by the Galactic Empire and New Republic for landing infantry units. An assault shuttle would typically contain one platoon consisting of forty stormtroopers.
New Hope, the Alliance to Restore the Republic flagship, had assault shuttles in its hangar.[1] Vengeance-class dreadnoughts also had complements of assault shuttles.[2]
Assault shuttles were used by Imperial Special Operations Imperial commandos during the Subjugation of Sulon.[1]
Years later, Boc Aseca led a team of Imperial commandos boarding Duno Dree's transport, and capturing Qu Rahn with his team.[2]
Sariss, Yun and Boc made a reconaissance flight near Fort Nowhere on Ruusan on one such shuttle. They would also be used to land troops during the ensuing battle.[3]
