"And [Antonio Viña] is magical. He's very special. And does a lot with his eyes, which is important for this role more than any other role. And he has that spark that is really cool, in his eyes."
―Diego Luna[1]

Antonio Viña is an actor who portrayed Kassa in the Star Wars: Andor television series.

Biography

Antonio Viña is an actor who played a young Cassian Andor, who was known as Kassa on his homeworld Kenari.[2] Diego Luna, the actor who played adult Andor, found it very important for young Andor to be played by a Mexican actor to show that the two actors shared something.[1] Viña, Luna, and Fiona Shaw, the actress who played Maarva Andor, collaborated to shape Maarva's journey as an adoptive mother.[3] When Viña flew to London for his last session, Luna made sure that he was the right actor for the role, and they spent time together. The two actors were shooting at the same time, so Luna was able to welcome Viña and make him feel part of the team. Luna thought that Viña was special because he does a lot with his eyes, which Luna thought was very important for the role. Luna also liked that Viña has a "spark" in his eyes.[1]
